Earlier in March, I was chatting with a friend and mentioned that shadow work was becoming prevalent for myself. It felt like everywhere around me, everyone’s shadows were showing, and egos were coming out full throttle.
She explained to me that the energy between the 2 full moons of March was to help people shine some light on the shadow selves. It all made sense.
And even in knowing that, I have still found myself being pulled down into the shadow, saying things that weren’t the most impeccable, doing things that I would later regret, and getting angered by the stuff that I was seeing on the news, and the world around me.
And in the midst of all of it, I read a quote by Jim Carrey that (I can no longer find it) went along the lines of, ‘We are all here, playing different characters, and we get angry, and sad, and hurt by other people, but at the end of it all, we are all just characters, and we will return to energy and none of what we have experienced will even matter anymore’.
And that’s when it clicked.
I have said this to client’s in the past, that we are all characters here, playing a role, and when we have someone show up who is awful to us, it’s not because they are an awful person, but rather, because when we are a Soul energy, we ask for lessons, and sometimes those lessons need someone to be awful so that we can learn what we need to from them.
The problem is, we all get so caught up with the awfulness that we forget to look for the lessons in all of it. We forget that we are all just characters here for a small part, and then, when our time is done we will return to being pure energy.
The truth is, our planet is shifting, in some really awesome ways…. and yet, it can become overwhelming and hard to deal with. The greatest gift that we can give to ourselves is to remember to allow our emotions to come up when they are being triggered, detach from the experience, and realize that what we are experiencing is not our truth, but rather an expression of the universe, and our universal energies all working together so that we can move towards our soul’s full potential while we are here.
As things are proceeding with all of this argumentive energy (there truly is no right or wrong) it’s important for all of us to remember to show up and be a beacon of love. We don’t have to waste our energy getting involved in the hate. We don’t have to waste our energy talking about other people as though they have no soul, no heart and no feelings.
The more we allow ourselves to show up as love, the more love we will begin to create in our Universe. The more we allow ourselves to find love in the world around us, the more in control of our reality we will become, as hate will no longer have the control over us.
At the end of the day, when we are asking, ‘Are you f**king kidding me?’, we must ask ourselves, ‘Am I f**king kidding myself? Am I getting too involved, or too angry, or too triggered by something out of my control?’
If you answer yes, then it’s time to take a step back, and go within to see what’s triggering you and then ask ‘What can I do about it?’
That is where our true power lies.
